With the Special Investigation Team (SIT) having submitted the closure report in the metropolitan court in Ahmedabad, all eyes are now fixed on February 13 when the report will be opened. And Zakia Jafri, whose petition led to the SIT probe into the allegations against chief minister Narendra Modi and 62 others, says she will wait for the report to decide the further course of action.

"We will go through the report filed by the SIT. I can't comment at present. After studying it, will decide what course of action is to be taken. I am confident that we will be given justice," Jafri said.

She said she would continue to fight until those responsible for the entire incident were punished. "I am fighting for the past 10 years and will continue my legal battle. Allah is with us and we will prove our case," she said.

According to her, the reports that chief minister Narendra Modi has been given clean chit by the SIT are baseless. "This is because the court or SIT has to hear the complainant once before arriving at any conclusion."

On whether they feel anguished after the Supreme Court ordered that case should be heard by a local court in Ahmedabad, Jafri's son Tanvir said the step was a legal procedure. According to Tanvir, they have enough evidence to prove the case in court.

He also refused to approach the International Court of Justice (ICJ) if not satisfied with the order given by the local court. "There is no question of approaching ICJ, as legal options are still open for us in India. We will go there, only if found that there is no way out in India to get justice in the case. If we are not satisfied, will again approach higher courts in India," Tanvir said.

He said that if it was difficult for them to prove the case, then it would be more difficult for the opposite side to prove their innocence.
