Moreover, artistes like Abhaysinh, Sanjay Oza, Shyamal Soumil, Pafful Dave and Aishwaria Majumdar have committed to perform,” he added.

“More than 50,000 people are expected to visit every day; entry will be free. We have invited 15,000 guests for the inaugural function and are organising various exhibitions like on tourism and state development in various field,” said Rao.

“State corporate companies who organised the 2008 Vibrant Navratri Festival at the university ground are not participating directly in the event. They are, however, lending full support for the gay festivity. They have also committed to share half of the cost for the event,” he said.

Last year, the Vibrant Gujarat Navratri Festival was organised by Gujarat Industries Navratri Festival Society, which spent Rs10 crore. But many corporate firms refused to contribute at the last moment and the government had to get involved to ensure the event was organised smoothly.
