VHP International general secretary Praveen Bhai Togadia today demanded that the government legislate for the construction of a temple of Sri Ram Lala on the entire plot at Ayodhya.

"The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has divided 90x115 ft of land into three parts. Thus only a 30x35 ft plot is earmarked for Ramlala on which construction of his temple is impossible," Togadia told a press conference here.

Claiming that the judiciary had supported the VHP's stand that there was no Babri mosque in Ayodhya, he appealed to all political parties to extend full support to the proposal.

"The VHP has launched a nation-wide Hanumat Jagaran Havan Yagya for this," he said.

In reply to a question, Togadia said "we know that VHP is not a party in the Ayodhya Janmabhoomi case, but wherever there is involvement of the interest of Hindus, be it Kashmiri Hindus, the Parishad has a crucial role to play."

To another question, he said "It is not the VHP, Ramlala wants his temple there and we are Ram Bhakt and will work for early construction of the temple."

Reacting to Congress protests over RSS leader KC Sudarshan's alleged derogatory remarks against its president Sonia Gandhi, the VHP leader said the Congress should first apologise before the nation for its tirade against the RSS.

"First of all Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi and Union home minister P Chidambaram should apologise to Hindus in India for their remarks," he said.
