Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is launching a nationwide agitation against the government's decision to grant 4.5% reservation to Muslims within 27% OBC quota, the party's international general secretary Praveen Togadia said in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

"We have decided to launch a nationwide agitation for saving the jobs and education of Hindus in the country," he said without specifying the date for the proposed stir.

Togadia was speaking on the sidelines of a trident distribution function organised by Bajrang Dal in Maninagar area.

The VHP members would be mobilising Hindu community against the injustice done to them by the Union government by approving the sub-quota for Muslims, he said.

"This agitation would intensify and could take form of a civil war, if the government does not rollback its decision," Togadia said.

Accusing the government of playing vote bank politics, the firebrand leader said he would be meeting the leaders of the OBC community across the country and ask them to join the VHP agitation to protect their rights in coming weeks.
