The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Monday paid tributes to kar sevaks killed in the Godhra carnage on the 10th anniversary of the incident. Announcing that VHP will start public movement against Jehadi terror, VHP's international general secretary Pravin Togadia called upon all the Hindus for social and economic boycott of the jihadis as part of his campaign called "HinduSthan against Terror'. Togadia also implored people to recognise politicians who are hungry for Muslim votes and teach them a lesson.

The police had barricaded the area around the place where the ill-fated S-6 coach is placed and no one was allowed to reach the spot. The police had also made it clear that the VHP leaders will perform puja and pay tribute at a designated place only. However, Togadia defied the rules and rushed to coach S-6 along with VHP members. There he not only paid floral tributes to 58 kar sevaks killed in the incident that took place near Signal Falia at Godhra Railway Station, but also delivered a 25-minute-long speech at the spot.

Togadia also announced that the VHP will recruit volunteers to provide information about terrorist activities in the country. "We will recruit people from public places like people residing or working near railway station, bus stations, mosques and temples to train them with help of retired police and army officials so that they can provide information to police about suspicious movement of people," he said. VHP plans to take this message to one crore Hindus in Gujarat.

The VHP leader also blamed the government machinery for failing in tracking people who provided support to terrorists.  He said that after one incident of attack on the World Trade Center, there has been no single terrorist attack on America again. However, in India not only Akshardham, parliament and Mumbai bore the brunt of terrorist activities, but bombs were found in Surat too because of local support. "More than 30,0000 Hindus were arrested following post-Godhra riots, but no single Muslim was arrested after attacks," said Togadia. The bitter truth is that, no government - Centre or state - truly wishes to finish jihadi terror, he alleged.

Without naming chief minister Narendra Modi and his Sadbhavna Mission, Togadia went hammer and tongs on politicians who survive on Muslim votebank. "Some people are very fond of giving place to people with skullcap and beard on the platform in public programmes. Our duty is to create awareness among the Hindu community so that they will show door to such people in the election," said Togadia.
