A cloth merchant from Vastrapur has gone missing from Mehsana since Wednesday morning.The Kagdapith police station is investigating the case after a complaint was filed in this connection.
The 39-year-old Suresh Lothra had gone to Mehsana on June 23 for a business deal in a Scorpio car. He was accompanied by two people who had come down from Delhi .
According to police sources, Suresh, who belongs to Assam, had been living with his wife Vaishali, 35 at Suryavanshi Tower in Vastrapur. Suresh, who did his schooling in Ahmedabad, completed his post graduation from Darjeeling.
In 2007, the MBA returned to Ahmedabad and began a wholesale cloth business at Vanijya Bhavan near Kankaria. Police sources said that on Tuesday morning, Suresh went to his office.
At around 1.30 pm he called his wife Vaishali and informed her about his plan to go to Mehsana for some business related work.
He told her that he would be accompanied by two people who had come from Delhi. Vaishali later tried to contact her husband thrice between 5.30 pm and 12 am. In the last call, Suresh reportedly told his wife that he will soon return to Ahmedabad and that the deal with the two people from Delhi had gone well. When Suresh failed to return, Vaishali again contacted him on his mobile at around 7 am on Wednesday.
Though he talked to her, Vaishali said that he sounded scared but promised to be home soon. Since then, Suresh has been missing and his mobile phone has been switched off. According to sources, Vaishali and Suresh were childhood sweethearts, who married against their parents wishes.
Both of them were married earlier, but divorced their partners to be together with each other. Suresh's parents were against his marriage with Vaishali.According to Vaishali, Suresh has no enemies. Police suspect the role of the Delhi-based businessmen.
