Vadodara students to fly in Indian Air Force aircraft

The Indian Air Force will provide an air experience to 10 to 15 students selected from the local schools and colleges of Vadodara on February 14. The IAF is conducting the 'X-India Air Expedition' using micro-light aircraft to demonstrate the adventurous culture of the air force in an attempt to motivate the youth to join the services.

The expedition which originated from Udhampur on February 7 will end at Trivandrum on February 21 and will make a stop at the AF Station, Harni in Vadodara.

"The Indian Air  Force plans to organise such events in the future and will also try to include other cities of Gujarat, to attract the young blood towards the defence services," said Gp Capt MG Mehta. The objective is to showcase the spirit of adventure and the fearlessness of the force by allowing youngsters to experience a part of it. The micro-light used for this expedition are an ultra-light category of flying machines.
