Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav Thursday attacked the Congress alleging during its rule Uttar Pradesh witnessed maximum riots in which Muslims suffered heavy losses.

"Recalling riots of Maliyana, Hashimpura, Moradabad and Aligarh causes one to shudder even today," Yadav said referring to the slew of riots in the state during Congress rule.

He did not spare the BJP either terming the party as the "enemy of Muslims."

Addressing party workers at the SP headquarters in Lucknow, Yadav reminded them how after the Gujarat riots, he had called Narendra Modi a "murderer of humanity" in Parliament and gone to Ahmedabad to meet the riot victims.

Mulayam said that during SP regime a number of schemes were launched for the welfare of Muslims.

"While in Congress regime only 1.5% Muslims were recruited in police and PAC recruitments this percentage was 15% in SP rule," he said.

He said there is maximum democracy in SP where suggestion of every worker is taken and considered by the leadership.

He alleged that in BSP even ministers and MLAs were unable to meet their Chief Minister.

Mulayam said SP was contesting the elections to form the government in UP.

As Assembly polls may take place in February, the party should be fully prepared, he said, adding that after the polls the struggle would be for Delhi in 2014.

He said if SP wins state Assembly polls then no party would be able to form the government in Delhi without its support.

He appealed to the workers to ensure victory of candidates declared by the party and to publicise its achivements among the electorate.
