Two persons killed, 17 others injured in a road accident in Bihar

The incident took place as the pick up van carrying supporters of the RJD nominee from Chiraiyya Assembly constituency Lakshmi Narayan Yadav, overturned after its driver lost control of the vehicle.

Two persons were killed and 17 others injured today when a pick-up van carrying them overturned in Bihar's East Champaran district, police said.
 
The incident took place as the pick up van carrying supporters of the RJD nominee from Chiraiyya Assembly constituency Lakshmi Narayan Yadav, overturned after its driver lost control of the vehicle near Mirpur Talab under Chiraiyya police station area.
 
Two persons, identified as Ram Janam Baitha and Gobari Manjhi, died on way to the hospital, they said adding 17 others sustained injuries, four of them seriously.
 
The injured were admitted to various hospitals in Motihari where the attending doctors referred four of them to PMCH at Patna.
 
Yadav's supporters were returning to Chiraiyya by the ill-fated vehicle after their leader had filed nomination for the Assembly polls earlier in the day.
