Two persons, including a computer graduate, were arrested in the national capital for allegedly murdering and robbing the assistant manager of a south Delhi restaurant last month, police said today.

The arrested were identified as computer graduate Chandan Kumar Singh, 25, and Rajesh, 30.

The duo were apprehended near Jor Bagh Metro Station yesterday on a tip off that they were allegedly involved in the murder of Kajal Chatterjee, 26, an assistant manager at Restaurant 'Joy Luck Moon' in Saket on September 26, police said.

During preliminary investigation, victim's wife Nilonila told police that her husband had hired some cab to reach the house and later his phone was found switched off.

The arrested duo told police that they were security guards in Dwarka and confessed to the murder of Chatterjee after robbing him, deputy commissioner of police (south) HGS Dhaliwal said.

"The gang met near AIIMS on October 26 night and reached IFFCO Chowk where they gave lift to a man whom they robbed at gun point, withdrew cash from his ATM card at Sultanpur Metro station and dropped him near Qutub Metro station.

"Chatterjee was their last target for the night. They took him to Mehrauli, robbed his cell phone, purse containing cash and his credit cards. Chaterjee raised a little alarm which irked Naveen who shot him at his head and when he bleeded profusely, threw him down road side and they ran towards Gurgaon," Dhaliwal said.

Two more persons involved in the crime, including Naveen, were still absconding.

Rajesh had earlier been in jail for seven years in a sensational murder case of Murdala Tripathee, resident of Kamla Market, in 2000 in which he strangulated the elderly woman to rob her.
