Two men were arrested for allegedly robbing a senior executive who was en route to his office after brutally stabbing him in the national capital, police said today.

Shambhu Saha (22), hailing from Murshidabad in West Bengal, and Salaudin (22), a resident of Mehrauli, were caught recently in connection with the case, a senior police official said.

The duo stabbed one Rupesh (29) near Lado Sarai on September 29 when he resisted their attempt to rob him, the official said adding they subsequently fled with his mobile phone and wallet. "Rupesh was brutally stabbed and due to his severe injuries, he remained in ICU for one week," he added.

The arrests came following police getting information that Saha, who had fled to his native place, was allegedly behind the incident. A team went to the accused person's native and arrested him.

His interrogation led to the arrest of Salaudin, who had returned to Delhi.
