Truck driver beaten up after boy run over by truck in Jharkhand

Giridih (Jharkhand): A truck driver was beaten up and the truck was set on fire after a 8-year-old boy was run over by the truck near Kubri in Giridih district today.

A large number of people assembled at the spot and caught hold of the driver, who was mercilessly beaten up by the crowd after the boy, Aditya was run over by the four-wheeler, police sources said.

The seriously injured truck driver was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors referred him to Rajendra Institute ofMedical Sciences in Ranchi, sources said.

Protesting the incident, the local residents set the vehicle on fire damaging the vehicle badly before the fire was doused, sources added.
