Top guns to mentor GCCI youth wing

The youth wing of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries has prepared an ambitious plan for its members. The youth wing will be formally inaugurated by technocrat Sam Pitroda on September 2, 2009 at Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A).

Amitabh Shah, chief executive officer of Gujarat operation of Valu Budget Housing Development Corporation and founder of Yuva: Unstoppable, has been selected as the first chairman of youth wing of the apex body of trade and industry in the state.

"We have already prepared a plan for mentorship programme for our young members. We have taken the help of professors of IIM-A," said Shah. The membership of the youth wing will be open for all entrepreneurs including small laariwalas to students of business schools to young businessmen, he said.

The youth body is planning to invite top guns from the field of industry and education among others to mentor the members of youth wing.

Some of the prominent people who attended the event included professor of IIM-A Anil Gupta, director of Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Dr Dinesh Avasthi, director of Electrotherm India Ltd Avinash Bhandari, realtor Jaxay Shah, president of Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) Utkarsh Shah among others.
