TN governor, leaders greet Muslims

Tamil Nadu governor Surjit Singh Barnala and political leaders greeted members of the Muslim community on the occasion of Id, being celebrated today.

"Let Id-ul-zuha, the festival of sacrifice, rekindle the spirit of compassion and love and promote peace, unity and brotherhood," governor Surjit Singh Barnala said in his
message.

AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa said Id was marked by the principles of sharing and sacrifice, besides the concept that none was equal to the Almighty and called for love and compassion among people to put the nation on the path of development.

TNCC president KV Thangkabalu, MDMK founder Vaiko and PMK leader S Ramadoss also greeted the Muslim community.
