Three tribal kids were rescued by the police in Ganjam district while they were walking down the NH-5 haplessly near here after moving out of their hostel, police said today.

The kids, aged between four and six years, were picked up by the police near Jagannathpur, about 20km from here, police said. The children are apparently in a state of shock and could not reveal the name of their hostel where they stayed or the reason behind their escape, they said.

However, police have found that the trio, who study in an English medium school here, hail from a tribal village near Kodala in Ganjam district and their parents have also been informed.
