Three killed in road mishap in Madhya Pradesh

Three motorcyclists including a couple were killed and three others were injured seriously in a freak accident at Mandideep near here, police said today.

The mishap took place yesterday in front of Punjab National Bank at Simrai village when two trucks after colliding head-on, hit two motorcycles killing three persons on the spot, they said.

The deceased were identified as Rajendra Sharma and wife hailing from Bhopal, and Harvind of Khapria village in neighbouring Raisen district, they said.

Rajendra along with his wife was returning to Bhopal on a bike after taking a dip in Narmada river in Hoshangabad district on the occasion of 'Somvati Amavasya', police said.

Nilesh Chouhan who was on another motorbike with deceased Harvind and two truck drivers, were injured and admitted to Hamidia Hospital here, they said.

A case has been registered, police added.
