Three killed in fire in Uttar Pradesh

A teenaged girl and her two brothers were killed and half a dozen others injured when a fire broke out in a cracker manufacturing unit in Deoria district, police said today.

The incident occurred in Khampur area yesterday when fire broke out in the cracker unit, which was being run in a house of a man identified as Haleem, they said.

While Haleem's two sons, aged four and five years, and 18-year-old daughter were charred to death, the injured labourers were rushed to a hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger, they said.

A case has been registered in this regard.
