Three killed as well caves in in Jharkhand

Three persons, including a 12-year-old girl, were killed and four others injured today when a well caved in at Chatra district of Jharkhand.

The incident happened after the girl child Chandini fell into the well while fetching water at Gidhour block, about 18km from Chatra, district sub-divisional officer Indradeo Mandal said.

On hearing the news, the girl's uncle Kallu Mian and other villagers also got down into the well to rescue her.

The 'kutcha' wall of the well suddenly caved in trapping seven persons, the officer said adding that bodies of three persons, including the girl were recovered later.

The remaining four persons suffered injuries, including one seriously, who was referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences at Ranchi.
