Three killed, 10 injured in road accident in Meerut

Three persons were killed and 10 others injured when a collision occurred between two vehicles at Sallarpur village here, police said today.

The incident happened last night when the victims were returning to their village after attending a marriage, they said.

While two women and a girl died on the spot, the injured were rushed to a private hospital. In the last six months, around 203 people have been killed and 332 injured in 485 accidents in Meerut, police said.

"Most of the accidents have occurred on highways due to over-speeding and over-loading vehicles," SP Traffic Sudhir Kumar said.
