Lucknow: Taking a cue from the judiciary, three senior IAS officials and an IPS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre have disclosed their assets.

Those, who have disclosed their assets, include Vijay Shanker Pandey, Sunil Kumar and Renuka Chaudhary, all additional cabinet secretaries, and deputy inspector general (DIG) (training) Jasbeer Singh.

Renuka Kumar and her husband Sunil Kumar, who are from UP cadre, are currently on central deputation.

"We have written letters to the Central Cabinet Secretary and have demanded that all public servants whether a government officer or political leader should disclose their moveable and immovable assets," additional cabinet secretary Vijay Shanker Pandey said.

He said that a public scrutiny of assets of public servants should be done and the data should be updated every year.

An arrangement should be made wherein public servants can disclose their assets, he added.

"The UP IAS Association had been raising this demand since long and a resolution was also passed in this regard," said Pandey, who had been spearheading a campaign to identify corrupt IAS officers in the state.

A 1979 batch IAS officer Pandey, who also hold charge of principal secretary information, has bank deposits of Rs 1.17 lakh, Rs 2.5 lakh in post office account and owns a 1990 model Fiat car, sources said. However, details of assets of other three officers were not known so far.

On November 2, chief justice of India KG Balakrishnan and 20 other judges of the Supreme Court made public their assets.
