Three children die, 9 injured in lightning strikes in Jammu

Three children were killed and nine students injured in two different incidents of lightning strikes in Doda and Reasi districts of Jammu and Kashmir today, police said.

Gulshan Bano (14), Anisha (7) and Sharva Gul (4) had taken shelter under a tree in Alkhand village in Reasi district this afternoon to save themselves from the rain when lightning struck them, police said.

In another incident, lightning struck a government middle school in Dooli village in Doda district this afternoon, injuring nine students of Class VI and VII.
