Three arrested in Madhya Pradesh for possessing cannabis worth Rs 15 lakh

Three persons were arrested with 21 sacks containing more than six quintal of cannabis worth Rs15 lakh at Bina Dhaba near here, police said today.

Acting on a tip off, police intercepted a mini truck and seized over 600kg of cannabis last night, Udaypura police station in-charge inspector Pritam Singh Thakur said.

Three persons in the truck identified as Rashid Khan (20), Deepak Rajput (43) and Gokul Prasad (28), who hail from Hoshangabad, have been arrested, Thakur said.

The accused have told police that they were carting out the contraband from Andhra Pradesh to Narsinghpur, he said adding that the trio have been booked under relevant sections of NDPS Act.
