More than 2000 people paid a visit to Kalupur railway station, when the 'Mother Teresa Express' rolled in on Friday morning. The two-day exhibition that illustrates the life and works of Mother Teresa has been organised by the Indian Railways and was inaugurated on Friday soon after its arrival from Baroda.

The exhibition occupies three bogies of the train and is on display for the public on Friday and Saturday. People will get a chance to know more about the works and the life of the Catholic nun, who was awarded both the Nobel Peace Prize and the Bharat Ratna, among others, for her work for the poor, the downtrodden and destitute people of this world.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the Catholic Bishop of Ahmedabad, Thomas Macwan said: “Through this train exhibition, the message of spreading love and affection is being given. Mother Teresa believed that every human, irrespective of his or her caste and religion, is a child of God, and hence should be treated with love."

Several schools had arranged their educational visit to this train exhibition. The huge rush at the registration counters of the exhibition made clear the fact how much the people admire the "Saint of Kolkata' and want to know more about this noble lady.

The exhibition contains photographs of her early days with her parents, her work in the slums, her school when she became a principal and her selfless service for the downtrodden. The exhibition also features the years in which Mother Teresa won the Nobel Peace Prize (1979), Magsaysay award (1969), Padma Shri (1963) and Bharat Ratna (1980).

A video display on Mother Teresa's  work that she voluntarily undertook is one of the attractions of the exhibition.
