Thirty eight homeless families were given the first instalment of money to construct houses under the Integrated Housing and Slum Development project in Anantnag district today.
Cheques amounting to Rs9.50lakhs were handed over to the families by Jammu and Kashmir minister for School Education, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed.
Each family received Rs25,000 as part of the project.
