It seems even police stations in the national capital are not free from thieves.

On February 5, a motorcycle and a wireless set kept inside the two-wheeler of a policeman were stolen from inside the premises of Kirti Nagar police station in west Delhi.

Struck by the incident, police sources said today, a departmental inquiry has been ordered, besides placing head constable Narendra Kumar under suspension for negligence of duty.

This is not the first incident of theft from the police station as a few months ago, a Daily Diary (DD) register was stolen in Delhi.

Kumar was on night duty on February 5 and he had parked his motorcycle inside the police station premises. He had left the wireless in a box of the motorcycle and did not take it with him.

The incident came to light next morning when he went to the parking lot to take his motorcycle. The motorcycle and the
wireless set were missing from there, sources said.

He immediately informed his colleagues and a search was conducted but they could not locate either the motorcycle or the wireless set. Then they informed senior officials.

A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
