The all-party Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) would meet on February 11 to finalise its plan of action over crucial issues, including the alleged delay by the Centre in announcing the terms of reference of the Srikrishna Committee and the coming assembly session.
"The delay in announcing the terms of reference (TOR) of the Srikrishna Committee is very disappointing. Without waiting for the announcement of TOR, we will intensify our agitation," JAC convener C Kodandaram told reporters tonight.
Asked about the February 7 deadline set earlier to press for the resignations of legislators if the Centre failed to make a categorical statement for formation of Telangana, he said the issue would be decided on February 11.
Maintaining that smooth conduct of budget session of assembly, beginning on February 15, would be difficult due to the ongoing pro-Telangana agitation, Kodandaram said the strategy of JAC would be decided at the Thursday meet.
Condemning the alleged delay in releasing the TOR of the Srikrishna panel, he announced a programme of protests, though a plan of action would be firmed up on February 11.
He called for holding a candlelight march tomorrow and Thursday to appeal to the Telangana supporters not to commit suicide.
"On February 12 (Friday), we are calling for offering prayers in mosques for Telangana. It is also going to be 'Maha Shivaratri'. So, 'Telangana jagaran' should be conducted on that day," Kodandaram said.
