A 12-year-old Tanzanian died at the international airport in Ahmedabad early on Tuesday morning after she allegedly suffered a heart attack. A team of doctors from Apollo visited her but by that time she had already succumbed to death. According to CEO of Apollo Hospitals, Ahmedabad, Dr Praful Pawar the 12-year girl was from Tanzania and was suffering from congenital heart defect.

"Therefore, she was brought to Apollo and was under medication for the past 11 days. However, as she was unfit to be operated upon, the authorities refused to let her undergo a surgery." The doctors at the hospital refused to disclose the name of the girl.
"She was also examined to see if she was fit to fly and was accompanied by her mother for the journey," said Pawar.

He said initially the girl had breathing troubles and the doctors at the Apollo clinic at the airport rushed to the spot but she suffered a cardiac arrest and died. According to CISF sources at the airport the girl fainted inside the building early in the morning while waiting for her flight.

According to sources a couple of days back a 55-year-old passenger had a heart attack in a flight. However, unlike the Tanzanian girl, the man was saved.  A senior official of CISF told DNA that the girl even boarded a flight but was brought back when she could not breathe properly inside the aircraft.
