Tamil Nadu government today announcedbonus for its employees on the occasion of Pongal festial, costing Rs272 crore for the state exchequer.
According to directions from chief minister M Karunanidhi, Group C and D employees would take home a bonus of Rs3,000, while Group A and B staff would be paid Rs1,000, a government release here said.
Pensioners woul be awarded an extra sum of Rs500, the release said adding persons such as Anganwadi workers, village assistants and those on special time-scale of pay, would be paid a bonus of Rs1,000, the release said.
