Spread of the virus to Chudalaga residential school near Bargaon, about 40 km away from Jampalli where five positive cases were confirmed three days ago, has caused concern to the health authorities and administration, official sources said.

Two students of Chudalaga Kanyashram after confirmation of the disease were kept in an isolation ward at Rajgangpur along with five others. Out of the 389 students in the school symptoms of flu were reported in about 60, who were being treated, the sources said.

The chief district medical officer B Kindo visited the residential schools and other parts of the district yesterday, the sources said.

The district administration has sounded alert in the entire district with deployment of special medical teams and opening of temporary health check up centres at different towns.
