Swine flu kills one in Vadodara; state toll 44

One more person has succumbed to swine flu here today taking the toll due to H1N1 virus in the state to 44, hospital sources said.

Kamla Kanan, 30, died to H1N1 virus at the isolation ward of SSG hospital. He was on ventilator ever since he was admitted to the hospital, doctors said. According to the sources, his wife too has been detected H1N1 positive and is undergoing treatment at the SSG Hospital.

Kamla Kanan was a resident of Sama road in the city and was working in a private company.

About six days ago, he complained of cough and cold. After consultation from a private doctor, he was admitted to the SSG hospital on Saturday. He was shifted to ventilator at the special ward soon after he was admitted. The sample was sent for investigation which confirmed that he was H1N1 positive on Sunday.
