Ending a three-day deadlock, the suspension of two opposition BJP MLAs for their unruly behaviour in the Rajasthan Assembly was today revoked by speaker Dipender Singh Shekhawat.

The House had witnessed an impasse for three days from March 17 when party whip Rajendra Singh Rathore and legislator Hanuman Beniwal were suspended for creating ruckus.

Rathore was suspended for one year, while Beniwal faced similar action till the end of the current session.

When the House met this morning, Congress chief whip Virendra Beniwal moved a motion to end the suspension of the two MLAs which was passed by voice vote.

This followed an agreement arrived on Saturday between leaders of the ruling and opposition parties in the presence of chief minister Ashok Gehlot that the BJP members would lift indefinite dharna and hunger strike in the well of the House
demanding revocation of the suspension orders.

Gehlot said the government is always ready for a structured debate and added that baseless allegations should not be made to tarnish the image of the government.

Acting opposition leader G S Tiwari then brought back the two BJP MLAs to the House which later took up the Question Hour.
