As millions of his fans across the globe mourn the death of Michael Jackson, a passionate fan of the ‘King of Pop’ in Surat has also paid tribute to him in his own way by composing a song.Mahendrakumar Solanki, 42, a resident of Piplod in Surat has written a song, “Oh Jacko, may God bless you” and dedicating it to the music legend who passed away last week.
Not content with lyrics alone, the fan plans to get the song recorded by a professional pop singer as a fitting tribute. Solanki, who has three children, says he grew up watching and listening to songs of Michael Jackson, whose work he describes as music without boundaries.
“I was shocked to learn about his death. He has always been my idol. I have grown up listening to his music. I decide to compose a song and pen the lyrics myself, says Solanki. Solanki, who works as a technician in Reliance Industries, said the song was composed within three days of the King of Pop’s passing away.
“I have recorded the song in my own voice. Later I willapproach a professional to record it in his own voice, he says further. Solanki has written songs on Lata Mangeshkar and is making an album on Lord Ganesha. He is also preparing a composition of Kavi Narmad’s poems.
