The Congress party in Surat released its election manifesto for civic polls on Sunday, laying emphasis on an all-round development of the city. The party leaders promised the citizens of completing long-demanded projects and of providing infrastructure for developing local business. The Congress termed its manifesto as a proposed sketch of '2015 Suvarnajayanti' of Surat.
The city Congress president Shambu Prajapati released the party's election manifesto for SMC polls. While releasing the manifesto, Prajapati claimed it of being people-friendly, focusing mainly on the city's development. He urged the citizens to reinstate faith in Congress and bring them to power, to remove the monopoly of the saffron party in SMC.
Claiming the BJP- led administration in SMC as corrupt and biased, the party president hoped that people will go for a change, this election.
The party has included many projects in its manifesto such as connecting all 38 wards with e-governance, framing liberal policy for property tax, improving and enhancing water distribution network, slum up-gradation, creating facility to dispose effluent water and for promoting sports and developing international cricket stadium. Other projects included in the manifesto are like light rail transit, flyovers, bridges on rivulets, outer ring-road, coastal highway, parking facility in the walled city etc.
