Some 100 students of Ahmedabad Physiotherapy College breathed easy after their parents and trustees reached an amicable settlement on Monday, thus ending their ongoing strike. In the meeting, the trustees also agreed to refund the additional Rs2,000 charged as computer fee which the college took but did not provide sufficient computer facilities to students.
The decision to refund the fee has paved the way for starting academic sessions from Wednesday. Ketu Patel, a student said that around 70 parents came on Monday to meet the trustee and asked either to provide the facilities or refund fees. "Trustees agreed to work either way and so we have called off the strike.
The academic sessions will start from Wednesday as Tuesday is a holiday," said Patel. Talking to DNA, trustee of the college JK Patel said they have agreed to students' demands. "We will refund them the money and not provide facility as it is an additional course," he said.
