In a surprising disclosure, car thieves arrested by the Satellite police have revealed that the cars were supplied to agents, who in turn sold them to drug peddlers who used them to smuggle drugs.

The three thieves, who were arrested last week, have told the police that they supplied vehicles to two agents - Mohan and Dalio in Rajasthan. "Further investigation revealed that both the accused are wanted in many cases of drug smuggling. Dalia is wanted in 14 cases under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic
Substances (NDPS) Act, while Mohan had been arrested a couple of times in the past," said VP Patel, investigating officer of the case registered at Satellite police station.

Patel added that these peddlers keep changing vehicles to avoid being caught. A team of police officials is searching for the two agents in Rajasthan. "If the feared being caught, they would leave the vehicle at the spot and escape. After using car, the two would sell it off," said Patel.

The accused have admitted to have stolen 18 Boleros, two Qualis, one Pulsar bike and 16 other bikes from Satellite, Vastrapur, Ghatlodia, Navrangpura and Bapunagar in Ahmedabad and various other places of Surat and Vadodara. They have revealed that they took the cars to Rajasthan and handed them over to these two agents for whom they worked.

However, the agents are absconding. Patel said, "We went to their residence but we got to know that they hardly visit their place. The pair generally carry out their business on the streets. They frequently change their location. Moreover, we have also not been able to trace the people in whose possession the car is at present."
