Std X, XII exam from March 4 in Gujarat

Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) on Thursday announced the schedule for the SSC and HSC examinations. According to the announcement, the exams of both class X and XII will start on March 4. The entire exams will be completed in just 16 days. This year around 12 lakh students across the state are expected to appear in the examinations.

The SSC exam (Xth) will start on March 4 and finish on March 16, while the examination for class XII science and commerce streams will also start from March 4 and end on March 19.

The SSC exams will be held between 10.30 am and 1.45 pm, while the examination for XII commerce and science will be held between 3 pm and 6.15 pm. The board has also put the entire details of related to the schedule on its official website www.gseb.org.
The board has said that the students will be getting 15 extra minutes for filling details on their answer sheets while five extra minutes to read the question papers. The board has advised the students appearing in the exams to get all information about the exams, including language code numbers and date of examination, from the school
authorities.

The SSC exams will start with first language such as Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, English and Urdu, and will be followed by Social Science, English, Mathematics and Science and technology.

"This year our main focus will be to conduct the examination without any commotion. We are trying to minimise the errors that appear in the question papers. For this purpose we have set up an internal mechanism to keep an eye on every process of setting up questions. However, since the involvement of people in the process is huge, everything depends on them," said Hasmukh Adhia, chairman, GSHSEB.
