A 23-year-old national-level sportswoman had her leg cut off from her body after she was thrown out of a moving train between Chenati and Bareilly railway stations, police said today.
Sonu Sinha, a national-level football and volleyball player, was thrown out of Padmavat Express on Monday night because she resisted a robbery attempt while she was traveling to Delhi to appear in an examination, they said.
Sonu's left leg was amputated in the accident and she has been admitted to the district hospital, the police said.
She boarded the train from Lucknow and was traveling in the general compartment, they added.
