Special police officer commits suicide killing senior in Jammu

In a case of fratricide, a special police officer (SPO) of general railway police allegedly committed suicide after shooting dead his senior officer in Kathua district, police said here today.
     
Irate over a direction issued over guard duty for the night, SPO Sonu fired five rounds from his rifle on assistant sub inspector Kishen Dass at Chann Rodiya railway station around 11.45 pm last night.
     
Dass died on the spot, they said, adding, Sonu shot himself dead using the ASI's pistol.
     
After hearing gun shot, colleagues rushed to the spot and shifted bodies to the hospital, where both were declared brought dead.
     
Bodies have been handed over to the families, they added.
