South Korean couple held in Uttar Pradesh

The two South Korean nationals were arrested in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh from bordering Nepal on the charge of illegally entering India.

Two South Korean nationals were arrested in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh from bordering Nepal on the charge of illegally entering India, police sources said here today.

Assistant commandant of SSB Praveen Kumar informed Gauriphanta police station that a foreigner couple was suspiciously moving in Indian territory after which they were detained, the sources said.

When the police asked them to produce the necessary travel documents to enter India, the couple identified as Kim Kwang Bok and the woman Chang Hyan Jung failed to produce the same, they said.

The police said the couple was arrested under the provisions of the Foreigners Act and Entry into India Act.
