Two days after the passage of the Women's Reservation Bill in the Rajya Sabha, Congress president Sonia Gandhi today hosted a dinner for party MPs, ministers along with their spouses.

Prime minister Manmohan Singh, finance minister Pranab Mukherjee, home minister P Chidambaram, external affairs minister SM Krishna and law minister Verrappa Moily, who moved the bill in the Rajya Sabha attended the dinner.

Rahul Gandhi was also present at the dinner as also several AICC office bearers.

The dinner, held at 10 Janpath, the official residence of Congress president, was special this time as spouses were also invited for the get-together in keeping with the spirit of the landmark legislation that provides 33% reservation to women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies.

The dinner was a short and sweet affair. Leaders were served an assortment of both vegetarian and non-veg delights. It lasted for more than one hour.

Asked whether the issue of Women's Reservation Bill was discussed during the dinner, a senior party leader said on the condition of anonymity "there was no time for any such discussion. It was simply food."
