Puducherry: PWD minister Moh. F Shahjahan today distributed cheques to 45 families under the State government operated Rajiv Gandhi Social Security scheme.
He later told reporters that Rs25,000 each was handed over to 39 families who had lost their main breadwinners due to natural causes and Rs50,000 each to the remaining families who had lost the heads of thefamilies in accidents.
He said the families covered under this scheme belonged to below poverty line categories.
