Sohrabuddin came to Ahmedabad to sell bleach chemical

One Ramzan alias Don, a scrap dealer at the Kabadi market in Chandola, told the CBI that he had met Sohrabuddin in the city in 1994 through Yusuf Memon.

Sohrabuddin Sheikh was familiar with Ahmedabad where he had stayed since 1994. One Ramzan alias Don, a scrap dealer at the Kabadi market in Chandola, told the CBI that he had met Sohrabuddin in the city in 1994 through Yusuf Memon. Memon, who was Sohrab's friend, was in touch with the dreaded gangster, Sharif Khan, against whom the Interpol had issued a 'red corner' notice.

According to Yusuf Memon, Sohrabuddin was in the bleach chemicals trade and was staying in Ahmedabad because of the necessities of business.  At Yusuf's request, Ramzan arranged accommodation for Sohrabuddin at Bengir society in Shah-e-Alam. Sohrab stayed there for 11 months but he never charged rent.

Meanwhile, Abdul Latif was brought to ctiy after his arrest in Delhi. Latif named Sohrabuddin after which he was arrested from Ramzan's shop. Sohrab stayed in Sabarmati central jail for five years.
