A local court today sentenced six members of a family to two years imprisonment for attempt to murder their daughter-in-law.

A local court today sentenced six members of a family to two years imprisonment for attempt to murder their daughter-in-law and subjecting her to cruelty for dowry.
    
Additional chief judicial magistrate BD Bharti held Anwar, Akram, Younis, Ashraf, Sonu and Basella guilty on a case registered at Mahila police station for subjecting Jayada
to cruelty and harassment for dowry. The court also imposed a fine of Rs5,000 on the accused.
    
According to the prosecution, Jayada was married to Anwar on November 23, 1997, and she was harassed for dowry after her marriage. Jayada's in-laws also tried to murder her.
    
She was allegedly beaten up and tortured by her in-laws.
