Jharkhand chief minister Shibu Soren, who had undergone cardiac bypass surgery in May last year, was admitted to a private hospital here for routine checkup, a senior doctor said today.

Soren, 66, had undergone cardiac bypass surgery, Apollo Hospitals director (Medical Services) Dr Sathyabhama said.

He was admitted for "routine re-evaluation" by cardiac surgeons and cardiologists, Sathyabhama said in a release.
