Sex racket busted in Gujarat's Naranpura; 9 arrested

Police busted a sex racket that was being run in a residential building in Naranpura area on Monday and allegedly detained several prostitutes and clients. The raid came as bolt from the blue to other residents of the apartment, who were totally in the dark about it.

The racket, which was reportedly being run in a house on the sixth floor of Vardan Tower in Naranpura, was busted by the police on Monday night after a tip-off.

Six alleged prostitutes and three clients were arrested from different rooms of the house. Three clients-Chirag Barot, Dinesh Parikh and Devendra Chaturvedi-have also been detained.

NN Nair, the lady police sub-inspector (PSI) at Naranpura police station, conducted the raid. "The racket seems to have been run by one of the detained women, Jayshree Jeshrani.

She and five other prostitutes were arrested," Nair said.Nair hinted that there was a possibility that there were more people involved in the racket.

"We are questioning all the arrested and further investigation is on," she said.
