Seven chemists in Vadodara get licence for selling H1N1 drugs

The move comes following the deaths of five persons in the district due to the viral infection.

Seven chemists in the city have been given licences for selling Swine Flu tablets and drugs, DM Patel, joint commissioner, Food and Drug said.
 
"Enough stock of tablets and drugs have been provided to them in the shops located in the city," Patel said.
 
The move comes following the deaths of five persons in the district due to the viral infection. Around 500 suspected cases of Swine Flu have been reported out of which 22 have been tested positive.
 
"Proper steps have been taken to prevent the misuse of these tablets and drugs and also avoid their black marketing," Patel said.
 
The chemists selling these drugs will have to maintain a register for proper records on the basis of doctors' prescription, he said.
 
Besides, licences have also been granted to about 100 chemists located in each of the district in the state including Surat, Bharuch, Panchmahals, Anand, Kara, Ahmedabad, Kutch among others.
