A PIL was filed in the Allahabad high court today seeking a ban on TV serial 'Ye Pyar Na Hoga Kam' which, it alleged, had hurt sentiments of the Kayastha community.

The petition, filed by the Akhil Bhartiya Chitransha Mahasabha in the Lucknow bench of the court, alleged the word 'Kayastha' in the serial was being used to make fun of the community.

Unless such dialogues were deleted, the screening of the serial should be stopped, the PIL pleaded.

"The serial further divides the society which is already divided on caste lines," it submitted.

The hearing on the PIL is likely to be taken up on February two.
