Senior Pakistani diplomat dies of electric shock in Delhi

New Delhi: A senior diplomat with Pakistan high commission died last night due to electric shock at his residence in south Delhi, police said today.

Mohabbat Khan Afridi, Political Counsellor with the high commission suffered electric shock when he was drying his hair using an electronic equipment at his Vasant Vihar residence at around 10 pm, they said.

"After taking a bath, he was drying hair using a dryer in the bathroom. He suffered electric shock," a senior police officer said. The 47-year-old official, who was of a Brigadier rank, was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Vasant Vihar where he was declared brought dead.

His body was taken back to Pakistan last night itself via road after the Ministry of External Affairs gave the clearance, sources said.
