A 35-year-old security guard on Saturday lodged a complaint with Naranpura police station accusing four city-based money lenders of threatening to kill him and take possession of his home even after he repaid the amount he had borrowed from them.

Jyoti Kadiya, a resident of Patrakar Colony, Naranpura, has stated in his complaint that Raju Desai and Naran Desai, both residents of Chandralok Apartment, Memnagar as well as Dhanji Desai and Vikram Desai, residents of Phalgun Flat, Jodhpur Gam, Satellite, have been threatening and harassing him for the last four months.

When Jyoti was serving with High Sent Security and Services Limited and was posted in Memnagar, he happened to meet Raju who introduced himself as a money-lender. Sometimes after that, Jyoti borrowed Rs55,000 from Raju and Naran at a weekly interest rate of 10 per cent, the complaint states.

However, soon after that, the security guard fell ill and had no means of income for 18 months. So he could not pay his debt. Raju calculated the total amount at Rs7.5 lakhs and pressed Jyoti to recover it. He and Naran allegedly threatened to kill the guard and take possession of his house if failed to pay the sum, Jyoti said in his complaint.

Jyoti has claimed in his complaint that he has already paid Raju and Naran Rs20 lakhs but they are still demanding Rs7.5 lakhs.
Naranpura police have started inquiring into the matter.
