In a bid to check entry of Maoists from across the porus Indo-Nepal border, the Shashastra Seema Bal (SSB) would screen the Nepalese citizens who enter Uttar Pradesh through it.

"To prevent the movement of Nepalese Maoists in the border area, the security agencies have been asked to ascertain the identities of people before allowing them to cross over the border," SSB Commandant Lalit Kumar told PTI.

SSB has intensified vigilance on the border to stop infiltration specially during night hours, he said.

Other security agencies such as Indo-Nepal Border police and Local Intelligence Unit had also been directed to be on alert at the border.

Patrolling at public places, including cinema halls, hotels, rail and bus stations, had also been intensified to ward off any untoward incident, the commandant said.

He said reports are there that a Maoist-led force has been constituted in Nepal which may enter India to create disturbance.
